After the Possession, the group decides to lay low for a while in Koschei’s cabin down in New Mexico. That was the plan, although in reality they didn’t really have a clue what they were going to do afterwards. As Nairu recovers from the possession, still irritable… Rasput converses with her.

Rasput: “Hey, I wanted to see how you were doing. This is all my fault, I’m really sorry.”

Nairu: “Yeah, yeah. What do you really want? Are you gonna run away again like you’re not part of this now?”

Rasput: “I didn’t mean- I didn’t know this would happen. At least I didn’t give up. I helped you, can you at least be thankful?”

Nairu: “..I’m… I’m sorry. it doesn’t have anything to do with you, or Koschei. It’s just… Shit. While it took control of me, I heard it’s thinking. They have a plan to destroy the original Earth. Just freeze it over. It’s going to start getting colder, and colder, and then people start dying, and I was scared. I don’t know what to do. Do we leave? Do we try finding how to stop it? I just don’t know. ”

Rasput: “..Tell me everything. We can’t let those bastards take Earth A.”

Nairu: “All I know is that it’s going to start on the West Coast. They were going to try getting us killed first.”

Rasput: “Thanks for telling me. I’m gonna talk to Koschei and find a solution to this.”

Rasput goes over to the living room where Koschei’s watching Pirates of the Caribbean while drinking some beer. Koschei invites him and he joins in. Bringing up the winter problem. Koschei suggests “This world’s about to get destroyed… Can we take a trip to LA?” Assuming this is sarcasm, Rasput is about to walk off when Koschei clarifies. “No, I’m serious. I know some people there who’ve had close calls with the cult but have been able to hold their own. If it’s in the west coast, best chance they might know where it is.” With nothing to lose, Rasput and Koschei board a plane.

In California, Koschei and Rasput split up as to not seem strange. While Rasput has no leads, essentially just wandering around and talking to random people at tourist attractions, Koschei meets up with a group of gang members she’s known and they need her help with something. They take her to this overgrown greenhouse where a man is tied up. He’s a bigot who picked the wrong fight, was held hostage by the gang who are unsure whether it would be safe to let him go or to kill him. Without hesitation, Koschei takes the gun, executes the man and destroys it.

They thank her and reveal that a cultist they killed were discussing some information about a red truck parked in a nearby forest, powering the machine to create the winter. She picks Rasput up and drives there, with the snow getting higher and higher the closer they get. They eventually see the truck and several cultists guarding it. Koschei hands Rasput a gun which he accepts this time. They end up in a gunfight with the cultists, and while Rasput is prioritized killing as many of them as possible Koschei is trying to jack the truck.

Rasput spots a cultist just about to shoot Koschei but headshots him before he can. Just as that happens, Koschei is able to get into the truck and reverse it from the mechanism into a tree. Getting out, she signals to get away and shoots the gas tank. Blowing up the truck and the machine. The area immediately starts warming up, and the world is saved.

Koschei: “Not bad for your first time! Have any fun in LA?”

Rasput: “ABSOLUTELY!  Amazing idea getting out here. Sorry I couldn’t be more help at the start.”

Koschei: “Nah, you’re alright. Easy to get distracted in this city, haha. Guess we have to get back to New Mexico though. I really love it here.. But you know how it is.”

Rasput: “You want the honors of breaking the news to Nairu? This-”
Koschei stops smiling and goes back into the car. Every time Rasput asks about it, Koschei just states to “wait until we get there.”.

After they get there, Koschei leads to Nairu’s room who’s in an awful condition. Pale, red eyes, barely looking at anyone.

Koschei: “I found out a little before you went to see her. I think it might’ve had something to do with either the demon or the exorcism, but…

Nairu has cancer.”

Rasput phases out. Not even believing what he heard. “I have to go.” He says, and runs out of the house.

Some time passes, and Rasput, now on Earth B, puts all of his time into researching how as a Voidway Explorer, he can cure cancer. According to Koschei, there’s no time for chemotherapy or radiation and she’s gone in about 9 months. While renting a motel in Albuquerque, he finds a newspaper which reads that documents from a top-secret government facility in Michigan were leaked to develop world-changing technology, including Panacea.

Rasput goes to Earth A and speeds back to Koschei who’s at a local market and explains the facility. On the way back to the cabin they talk about how to infiltrate it, but Rasput firmly tells Koschei that he must do this by himself, to make up for leaving twice. Back at the cabin, Rasput summarizes the plan to Nairu and makes his way to Earth B, Michigan.

After making several connections and searching for a long time, Rasput finds the entrance to the facility near a waterfall at a park. He sneaks his way in and avoids all the security at the entrances. Deep underground, this facility consists of several dark corridors and maze-like structures. Rasput begins to think he got lost and panics, running from room to room. Turning a corner, he is met with a giant beast staring down at him, and it captures Rasput with a cloak.

For what seems like months, Rasput is trapped in a pocket dimension. For what seems like months he goes through several scenarios and ideas, all like non-vivid dreams. One minute he’s smoking weed with Nairu and Koschei, the next he’s swimming with whales in the pacific ocean. It’s all chaos, and he begins to become insane. While mindlessly wandering around an empty playground, the beast appears before Rasput.

“Who… Are you? Why are you doing this…” mutters Rasput.

“I am The Hunter. It’s been ages since I’ve had a pure human for my experiments.” The beast declares.

Rasput stares at the hunter. “I do not want this.. My friend, she helped create the original earth. She’s dying, and will be gone if I do not deliver her medicine from this facility.”

“...Very understandable. You may leave my prison, on one condition. Take whatever weapon you must, and take down these wolves.” Pointing to a pack of them. Rasput takes a gun and easily does this. The Hunter thanks Rasput, hands him the panacea and sprints off. Rasput passes out and wakes up in the facility with the pill in his hand. Dead security with gunshot wounds are all around the building. Rasput makes his escape, travels across worlds to Koschei’s cabin, and finds Nairu in much worse condition.

Rasput feeds Nairu the panacea. She is now completely free from the cult’s influence. Extremely tired, and with the sound of screeching birds invading his head, Rasput passes out.
